A mother-of-four has admitted drink-driving while using a mobile phone.

Faye Wingar, 36, of Colson Road, Loughton, admitted the offences yesterday at Thames Magistrates' Court.

Ms Wingar was pulled over in High Street, Whitechapel, on September 19, after police spotted her using her phone at the wheel.

She was then breathalysed and found to be over the limit.

Ms Wingar told the court: “I am hugely regretful for what happened and I am really sorry.

“I am a single parent with four children so I hope you take that into account.”

Ms Wingar was disqualified from driving for 12 months, which could be reduced to nine months if she undertakes a driving course.

She was also ordered to pay a £400 fine, £85 towards court costs and £40 victim surcharge.
