A festival that dates back to the 1990s returns in 2019 with an exciting line-up of talent.
Leytonstone Festival will run from Sunday, September 1, to Sunday, September 8, and will showcase new and familiar talent performing at venues around Leytonstone.
In-keeping with the spirit of the festival, which has been running for 26 years, it provides the prospect of being entertained by many local performers taking the opportunity to showcase their talents. With over 40 events, in over 20 venues in eight days, there will be something for everyone.
Performances will include events focusing on the life and times of that son of Leytonstone, Alfred Hitchcock, musical performances from punk and classical to jazz and thrash metal, an escape room based on the London Blitz, a roaring big band playing the hits of Basie and Ellington, a Victorian musical hall sing-along, a traditional East End drag cabaret and even a taste of a Cuban carnival.
For full details of festival events, a programme is available on the festival website www.leytonstonefestival.org.uk and Facebook www.facebook.com/groups/leytonstonefestival
