A busy road will be partially closed for at least another three days while repairs are carried out following a burst water main.
The water main in Chigwell Road, close to the junction of Roding Lane North in Woodford Bridge, flooded eight properties when it burst yesterday morning.
Vehicles travelling southbound on Chigwell Road will be diverted via Roding Lane North and Green Walk until at least Sunday while engineers fix the problem.
The northbound side of the road is open as normal.
Thames Water originally estimated it would take five days to carry out work on the road, but have since revised their estimate.
A spokesman for Thames Water said: “The broken 12-inch pipe in Chigwell Road was repaired yesterday and we are in the process of resurfacing the road.
“We hope to have this work completed by Sunday and are sorry for any inconvenience.”
