A decision on a proposed £9.6 million expansion of a secondary school is set to be made later this month.
Capacity at Woodbridge High School, in St Barnabas Road, Woodford Green, will increase by 420 pupils and 35 staff if the plan gets the green light from Redbridge Council’s cabinet on Tuesday.
It is hoped the investment will tackle the growing shortage of school places in the borough by building a new building to house drama, music, art, IT and history classes, as well as creating multi-use games areas on empty parts of the school grounds.
Under the plans, the extra pupils could be accommodated at the school from September 2014.
