Redbridge Central Library is hosting an open mic night to celebrate National Poetry Day next month.
Residents are being encouraging to come down and read their own works or poems by others that they love at the event, which takes place on Thursday October 3 from 6.30pm.
Participants are asked to read a poem related to this year's theme of water.
Redbridge Council says a secret guest poet will also attend.
The event, at the branch in Clements Road, Ilford, is free and open to all ages.
