Tottenham are thought to be lining up a January bid for Manchester United outcast Javier Hernandez.
Spurs boosted their forward line in the summer with the £26m signing of Roberto Soldado but with Emmanuel Adebayor out of favour, Andre Villas-Boas wants another striker to add to the Spaniard and Jermain Defoe.
Hernandez has only made one start in the Premier League this season and is thought to be available for around £10m.
