Community groups are working together to tackle social isolation in Walthamstow.
Action Against Isolation (AAI) invlves 15 organisations, including Significant Seams in Wood Street, The Mill in Coppermill Lane and Contact the Elderly, based at different locations around Waltham Forest.
AAI wants to raise awareness of the problem of social isolation, which it claims can lead to early death and increase demand on health and social services.
The group plans to hold open events to inform people of the activities and groups they can access in Walthamstow
The date of their first event is still to be confirmed.
