A man has been charged with murder following the discovery of a woman's body in a flat.

Abu Hussain, 37, of Whitechapel Road, Whitechapel, was charged yesterday over the murder of Sannah Javed in Ilford last week.

Officers were called to a flat at Frank Slater House, in Green Lane, Ilford, on Tuesday.

Sannah Javed, 26, was taken by ambulance to the King George Hospital, where she died in the early hours of the next day.

A post-mortem examination found the cause of death as multiple injuries.

Mr Hussain was arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday.

Investigating officer Det Chief Inspector Tim Duffield said: "We are appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard something suspicious on the evening of Tuesday December 2 to call the incident room at Hendon."
