Work has finally begun to re-open Lea Bridge station 30 years after its closure, in a move which is hoped will kick start the regeneration of the area.
Work on the £12million project was due to start in January this year, following a lengthy campaign by residents, rail users and councillors.
But it was put on hold when rail operators raised objections during the consultation period.
Network Rail has now revealed clearing work has begun at the site and set an opening date of March next year.
