A man has been charged with drink driving following a crash that resulted in a father escaping injury.
Dylan Turnell, of St Johns Road, Chingford, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving following the accident in Lukin Crescent, Chingford, on September 2 at around 8pm.
The 41-year-old has been released on bail to appear at Thames Magistrates Court on September 19.
His Mazda 6 ended up against the wall of a family's newly-built extension after it crashed through a gas mains box, a neighbour's wooden fence and concrete shed.
London Fire Brigade and gas engineers from National Grid were called to the scene to make the area safe and switch off the gas supply.
Father-of-three Amer Sadiq, 36, was leaning his back against the extension wall when the car collided.
He immediately called out to his family to get out of the house after fearing the car would explode.
