A coffee chain that is opening up shops across Waltham Forest has created more than half a dozen jobs for the locally unemployed.

Waltham Forest mayor councillor Saima Mahmud opened the brand new Costa in Station Road, Chingford, on September 8.

It is the fifth Costa Coffee to arrive in the borough in recent years following the opening of a branch next to Walthamstow Central, in The Mall shopping centre, in Chingford Mount and in Leytonstone High Road.

Working in partnership with Walthamstow Job Centre, seven jobs at the new Chingford store have been created for people in long-term unemployment.

Mayor Mahmud officially declared the store open and met with baristas, staff and customers.
