A popular miniature railway will run for the last time at the weekend as part of an annual charity event.

Every year, the Chingford and District Model Engineering Club raises money for a children's charity of their choice on the final Sunday before the railway at Ridgeway Park, Chingford, closes for the year.

The club, now in its 70th year, has decided to raise money for the National Deaf Children's Society.

The charity was chosen as it is considering opening a branch in Chingford and has long-supported a member's son, who is deaf and teaches at Heathcote School in Normanton Park, Chingford.

Both lines will be running on Sunday (October 4) from 2pm to 5.30pm and all fares costing £2.50 will be donated to charity.

The trains will start running again from Easter weekend 2016.
