A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a badly beaten man was found.

Police said they found the body, of a man they believe to have been in his 30s, at around 5pm on Tuesday, 17 November after being called by a member of the public.

He was found near Park View Road in Tottenham which lies next to Walthamstow Reservoir.

An ambulance was called but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say they know the identity of the man, but his next of kin have not yet been informed and he has not been named.

A post-mortem examination held on Thursday, 19 November, at Haringey Mortuary gave cause of death as "blunt force trauma to the head and neck".

A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and he remains in police custody.
