A 19-YEAR-OLD died after he was stabbed outside a birthday party at a shisha bar.

Police have confirmed Ziggy Worrell-Owusu as the victim of the fatal stabbing outside Basement Lounge Shisha Bar in Goodmayes in the early hours of October 27.

Mr Worrell-Owusu, from Hackney, was at an 18th birthday party at the shisha bar in Goodmayes Road with around 100 others.

Officers believe the teenager was involved in a fight at some point in the evening, which resulted in him being stabbed.

Emergency services were called at around 12.40am, but Mr Worrell-Owusu died an hour later in hospital.

His peers at his old school have expressed their grief and shock over his death, calling him "immensely kind and understanding".

DI Euan McKeeve of the Met Police's Homicide and Major Crime Command said: “There were a large number of young people inside the venue who would have witnessed this incident, and the events that led up to it.

“Some of these people may be reluctant to tell police what happened but I would urge them to come forward and speak to us.

“We are working through the evidence in our possession to establish who was at the party and we will identify all those who were there.

“I would also directly appeal to any parents whose teenagers attended the party - if you are concerned that your teenager may be a witness or unwittingly involved, please speak to them and contact us in confidence; we can discuss various ways you can support our investigation.”

No arrests have yet been made.
