A group of teenagers traded their way to success by selling goods in their local market and making a 600 per cent profit.

The entrepreneurs were given just four days and £40 to set up their stall in Walthamstow Market. 

The team sold art canvasses and confectionaries which proved to be a hit with shoppers.

The Mind Your Own Business project is run by the charity MyBnk who work with the Active Change Foundation to give youngsters in London’s poorest boroughs advice from experts in the industry.  

Fatima Zafar, 15, said: “It’s been amazing. I’ve learnt real skills and the experience of actually running a real business.

“It’s boosted my confidence talking to people and working in a team. I’m applying for jobs now and it’ll really help my CV.”

Guy Rigden, CEO at MyBnk, said: "It’s been fantastic to witness the transformation of these young people.

“This type of education is vital to a young person’s development, either in enterprise or employment.”

The initiative is funded by MUFG bank.
