An inquest into the death of 21-year-old builder is being opened more than two years after he was killed.

Marian Nemit died after a wall collapsed him while working on a shop conversion job at the Bakers Arms, in Leyton, on April 14, 2015.

The Romanian national suffered serious head injuries and later died at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel.

After his death, publication Ziua Constanta claimed his family first found out about Marian's death after a message was posted by his flatmate on social media.

At the time, Marian's friend, Crisitan Negu?, wrote on his Facebook account: "He was an angel who has gone through this miserable world, I went with him on moments that no one imagines.

"You will remain in my mind and soul Nemit Marian, you were the most loyal friend of mine with whom I shared the last slice of bread over and that I had in difficult times. [sic]"

A joint investigation by police and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) into the builder's death was launched, but it is still not clear exactly how Marian died.

Waltham Forest Trades Council has noted Marian’s death every Workers Memorial Day and will be attending the hearing.

President Dave Knight said he is hoping some of Marian's family will come over from Romania for the inquest.

He added: "We are extremely concerned about the incident. We just want to know the truth of the issue.

"Accidents like this are preventable and should never happen in the workplace."

The inquest will be held at Walthamstow Coroners Court on September 12 and 13.
