A 44-year-old woman stabbed to death in Ilford has been named by police as Elizabeta Lacatusu.
The Romanian national who had been living in Ilford was found with serious injuries in Norfolk Road on the evening of Wednesday, January 3 and was pronounced dead at the scene.
She was formally identified on Tuesday.
Genu Armeanu, 45 of Coleridge Avenue, East Ham, has been charged with Elizabeta's murder and appeared at the Old Bailey today, Monday.
He has been remanded in custody to appear for trial at the same court on June 18.
Armeanu was arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday January 3 and charged the following day.
