DANCERS beat more than 20 other boroughs to become champions of London.

Thirteen dancers from Wanstead High School triumphed in the London Youth Games 2018 in Stratford.

The key stage three students who represented Redbridge in the competition, achieved a high score of 83.7, making them the winners of the finals held at the Copperbox Arena.

Bob Hamlyn, headteacher at the school says: “I’m incredibly proud of all the dancers and their teachers, Miss White and Miss Seaman.

“All of them put in exceptional effort during their lunch times and after school. This shows that dedication and commitment pay off.”

Following their victory, the dancers have now been asked to open the London Youth Games spring finals at the Crystal Palace sports centre on Thursday, March 29.

Students will also go on to represent London in the National Schools’ Competition in Stoke on Trent in April.
