AN 'ABSOLUTELY' huge mound of rubbish has been dumped by a motorway bridge.
Yesterday (March 26) the pile, which towers over the gate of a nearby field along Weald Hall Lane, was spotted at around 1pm.
A passerby, who took a photo and asked not to be named, said: "A lot of it seems to be builders' rubbish but there's other stuff and black bin bags.
"It's the largest dumping I have seen in the area. It looks like two trucks' worth. It is absolutely huge."
In the past three years there has been a 38 per cent increase in the number of recorded fly tips in Epping Forest, from 1,683 in 2015/16 to 2,338 in 2017/18.
This has resulted in seven prosecutions in 2017 and saw Epping Forest become the second most fly tipped area in the county.
Last week The Guardian reported that the council had admitted the increase in fly tipping was in part due to stricter regulations at the district's recycling centres.
Epping Forest District Council has been contacted for comment.
