Images have been released of a man police want to trace over an assault outside a pub that left one person with serious facial injuries.

Officers investigating the incident say a 53-year-old man was attacked outside the General Havelock pub in High Road, Ilford, at around 8.05pm on November 4 last year.

The victim was punched and kicked repeatedly in the head, causing him to fall unconscious and slump to the floor.

He received severe facial injuries as a result of the attack and will require corrective surgery in the future.

Police want to identify a suspect captured in CCTV images who has yet to be traced following the assault.

He is described as a white male, aged between 25 and 35 years-old. He was wearing a grey top with dark-coloured jeans and black trainers.

A second male, aged 52, was arrested on January 29 and later charged with actual bodily harm in February in connection with the incident.

He entered a plea of not guilty at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on March 29 and will next appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on April 25.

Anyone with information on the man’s identity or on the attack is asked to call Redbridge police via 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on: 0800 555 111.
