A cyclist was thrown from her bike after being hit by a lorry.

The crash happened near Leyton Midland Road station on Tuesday evening.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 21:46hrs on 26 June to High Road, Leyton, following reports of a road traffic collision.

“An HGV is reported to have been in a collision with a cyclist.

“The cyclist, a female thought to be aged 26, was taken to an east London hospital. Her injuries were not life-threatening.

“Road closures were put in place.”
