Walkers on a mission to raise cash for a homeless hostel are asking shoppers at their local supermarket to donate to their worthy cause.

The ‘Loopy Walkers’ are due to complete their 150 mile journey on Saturday, September 1, when they will trek the 10th leg of the London Outer Orbital Path (LOOP), ending in Chingford.

Customers at Tesco in Larkshall Road, Highams Park, will find members of the group at a fundraising stall in the supermarket until the end of August.

Made up of trustees and colleagues at Branches Hostel in Walthamstow’s Forest Road, the group aims to raise £5,000 for the resettlement service for homeless adults.

So far, £3,000 has been raised for the service which helps people transition from hostel-life to independent living.
