A ten year-old's tale of the forest won her an award on International Literacy Day on Saturday (September 8).
Hannah Javed, age 10, of Chigwell Primary Academy, won first prize for her story 'The Mysteries Of The Forest' and was presented with a Kindle by author Lorraine Gregory.
The wordsmith also read her story 'Mold and the Poison Plot' for guests at the prizegiving in the Chigwell marketing suite of London Square, a development company responsible for the awards.
AsHannah’s story has been printed and published by London Square, with copies going to Chigwell library and her school.
Hannah said: "I was so happy to win the competition.
"I really enjoy writing, so it was really great for other people to like my story.
"It was lovely to meet Lorraine Gregory the author and learn what inspired her to become a writer.”
