A vibrant music festival will inject a bit of culture into the area.

Shake the High Road will take place on Saturday, October 13 across three of Leytonstone's top music venues.

The Red Lion, Luna Lounge and Leytonstone Ex-Servicemen’s Club - are within one-minute walk from each other and will host music and fringe activities all day into the early hours.

It features over 30 live acts and DJs, a pop-up record fair, family-friendly rave, a pizza party and more, for under £20.

Main acts include snooker legend Steve Davis and Kavus Torabi (DJ set), London Astrobeat Orchestra performing Talking Heads, Black Peaches, Big Fish Little Fish’s Family Rave.

A silent classic from Leytonstone’s most famous son Alfred Hitchcock to be screened with a reimagined live/DJ score.

Simon Singleton, SHAKE THE HIGH ROAD organiser and Leytonstone resident, says: “The line-up is eclectic and full of life - like Leytonstone’s residents - and there’s something for everyone with a mix of known and emerging musical talent, plus the family rave, writers club, and other fringe activities I’ve added to the bill. "I’m really excited about our one-off Hitchcock event with a brand new score – it’s going to be a magic moment."

This comes as Waltham Forest was named Borough of Culture 2019.
