Children proved they may have football careers in their futures after winning a tournament and making it through to the finals.

Buckhurst Hill Community primary school girls and boys under 11s each entered the West Essex Football Tournaments hosted at Chigwell School.

It started off plain sailing for the girls as they won both their opening games, and then went on to a draw in the next round, securing a place in the semi finals.

They won their semi final with their overall game stats standing at played four, scored ten and conceded zero.

A tense final against Whitebridge which finished 1-1 so went to penalties, but they emerged victorious and finished the tournament unbeaten.

The boys had a win and a draw in both their opening games, and then went on to a 4-0 victory in the next round, securing their place in the semi finals.

They won their semi final with their overall game stats standing at played 4, won 3, drew 1, scored 7 and only conceded 1. The boys went on to face Leverton in the final and won with a tight 1-0 victory, meaning they too finished the tournament unbeaten.

Both teams have now progressed forward to the U11 Football County Finals at the end of November.
