Supporters of the area's helicopter paramedics have raised a whopping £25,000 during National Air Ambulance Week.

Groups and individuals across Essex and Hertfordshire dug deep for the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, raising awareness, collecting donations and organising fundraising events for the life-saving Charity.

The week sees air ambulance charities across the UK unite to publicise their work.

During September Essex and Herts supporters collected at supermarkets, shopping centres, garden centres and sports venues.

Natasha Robertson, Hertfordshire fundraising manager said: “It’s been great to see so many different groups volunteer to help promote the Charity in their local community.

"We’ve had support from businesses, schools, Lions, Inner Wheels, Rotaries and Cadets.

“National Air Ambulance Week is a great opportunity for us to talk to people in the community about the fact that we are a Charity which receives only limited support from Government.

"The support we receive from communities across Essex and Hertfordshire is vital.”
