Pupils got into the Halloween spirit with a Harry Potter-themed week of activities before they broke up for half-term.

Children in Year 7 Bancroft School in High Road, Woodford Green, took part in potion making, a treasure hunt, debating and event attempted a game of Quidditch – the famous Hogwarts’ sport.

Swapping their uniforms for Hogwarts’ robes, the group used their netball, basketball and rugby skills to battle it out on the pitch, while riding broomsticks.

The week ended with a visit from Essex-based Eden Falconry, who offered the youngsters the chance to get up close and personal with a parliament of owls.
