A 47-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot mounds when he was shot as he was parking his car in a quiet residential street.
The victim was gunned down in Goodall Road, Leyton, at around 8.15pm on Friday, October 5.
His injuries are not life-threatening and he has since been discharged from hospital.
Police believe the suspect fled the scene in a grey vehicle and are appealing for anyone with dashcam or mobile phone footage of the incident to come forward.
Officers are also keen to speak with anyone who was in the area that night and who may have heard or seen anything unusual.
Acting Detective Sergeant Lee Marley, from the Met’s Trident and Area Crime Command, said: “We know there were people in the Goodall Road area around the time the victim sustained his injuries.
“I would urge anyone who has any further information to contact us via 101 quoting reference 7353/05Oct18.”
