Six teenage girls were arrested at Walthamstow bus station on Tuesday evening after police responded to reports of a fight.
Officers were called to Selborne Walk, Walthamstow, at around 3.50pm to reports of a fight involving “a number of youths”.
When they arrived at the scene, all those involved had fled except for one teenager girl whom they spoke with.
Less than two hours later, at around 5.45pm, police were again called to reports of a fight at nearby Walthamstow bus station.
A spokesman for the Met said: “Five female youths were arrested at the scene on suspicion of affray, and one female youth was arrested on suspicion of common assault.
“They have been taken to east London police stations and remain in custody.
“The bus station has now re-opened. Enquiries continue.”
