A man was stabbed in the buttock and another was hit with a golf club in the early hours of this morning.

At around 12.40am two men were found injured at Debden train station.

They had been robbed of their phones while on Rectory Road, Loughton, where the brutal attack also took place.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "They were taken to hospital for their injuries, which are not life-threatening.

"We are working closely with our partners, British Transport Police, to establish the time and circumstances of the incident.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
