Children who read can help others in need.

Chigwell based company Sounds Right Phonics Classes for Kids has pledged to donate £1 to Children in Need for every photograph uploaded to Facebook of a youngster reading which tags the charity.

Charlie Day, franchisor of Sounds Right Phonics, said: “We wanted to raise money for this very valuable charity, and also make it really engaging for the children.

"We thought this theme fits in really well with Sounds Right Phonics and the parents and children are already really enjoying the challenge.

“We have seen people reading in their Children in Need t-shirt and headband, outside a motorway service station and even whilst doing a headstand."
