Police have released CCTV images of two men they wish to speak with after jewellery worth more than £11,000 was stolen in a burglary.

Intruders targeted a house in Hampton Road, Chingford, on the morning of Wednesday, September 12, and caused £500 worth of damage.

Investigating officers believe that the two suspects, who are described as white males with dark hair, were dropped off in a white transit van close to the property and left a short while later on foot, running towards York Road.

After jumping over a garage at the rear of the property and entering the house via a ground floor window, the pair stole £11,500 worth of jewellery and £4,000 in foreign currency.

The burglary happened sometime between 7.45am and 9.15am.

Detective Constable Rosie Doyle, from the North East Area Safeguarding Unit, said: “These two men took thousands of pounds worth of sentimental jewellery and cash.

“Not only were they happy to steal from these victims but they also caused hundreds of pounds of damage to the property as well.

“I hope that someone in the area would have seen them before or after the burglary, or may know who they are or where they are from.

“Any information could really help our investigation and allow us to return the stolen goods to their rightful owners.”

Anyone who recognises the suspects should call police on 101, quoting URN 017153 for suspect 1 and URN 017154 for suspect 2.
