People can have their say on plans for a covered market set to open in Ilford next year.
Redbridge Council has teamed up with the company behind Elephant and Castle’s covered market and announced plans including a grocery store and international food market stalls.
The site, on the town hall’s car park in Chadwick Road, Ilford, is set to open from autumn 2019 and will feature artists’ studios and a business hub.
The project is being funded by the Greater London Authority’s Good Growth fund, extra cash will be provided by Redbridge Council.
The authority aims to create a sustainable market where start-ups can do well.
Plans for the market are on show this week at Redbridge Central Library on Thursday November 22 from 4pm to 7pm and Saturday November 24 from 10am to 12pm.
Representatives from the company behind the plans, Mercato Metropolitano, will be at the venue to answer any questions on the plans.
The covered market will later go to a planning committee for council approval based on community feedback.
