A career coach who works to empower women in the workplace is celebrating after being named one of LinkedIn’s Top Voices UK for the second year in a row.
Carol Stewart of Worsley Road, Leytonstone, founded Abounding Solutions in 2012 to pursue her passion for helping introverted women or those lacking in confidence.
Ms Stewart had taken voluntary redundancy from her position as group court manager at HM courts service where she had worked for 28 years.
And it was this move that gave her the mind space to consider a career change and found her own business.
This week, when LinkedIn published its list of top voices in the UK, having analysed writers on a number of criteria including engagement, Ms Stewart’s name once again rose to the top.
The east London native said: “To be named a LinkedIn Top Voice UK once was amazing, but to be named two years in a row is fantastic.”
Ms Stewart believes the corporate environment is very much geared towards extroversion and it’s often the case that she who shouts loudest gets heard.
Known as the coach for high-achieving introverted women, Ms Stewart helps quiet women to realise their inner strength and become great leaders.
Her thought-provoking articles on LinkedIn challenge people to raise awareness of their unconscious biases regarding gender and racial inequality, as well as championing the cause for introverts in the workplace.
The accolade comes four years after she was named one of Britain’s top 50 business advisers by Enterprise Nation in January 2015.
Weary that the pace of change for gender and racial equality is too slow, Ms Stewart plans to continue to raise her voice about these issues through her writing in 2019.
