Last week the RAF Museum welcomed back and reconstructed a Hawker Typhoon which flew during World War II

During the war, the Typhoon became established in roles such as a night-time intruder and long-range fighter.

From late 1942 the Typhoon was equipped with bombs and rockets.

The Typhoon became one of the Second World War's most successful ground-attack aircraft even capable of destroying the heaviest of enemy armour.
