Britain’s burglary hotspots have been revealed in new research.

Ilford was found to be the third most popular area for burglaries across the UK according to research compiled by MoneySuperMarket analysing more than 2.5 million.

The borough was found to have 47.56 content thefts per 1000.

The survey date also showed almost half of Brits have taken no precautionary measures to protect their property.

There was an increase of 16 per cent in national burglaries over the past year from 13.42 per 1000 to 15.57.

The B95 Birmingham postcode district was found to be the4 most top area for burglary in the country followed by CM4 in Ingatestone.
