A family are pleading for their much loved Podenco dog to return home, and are hopeful after numerous sightings.

Ana Silva says seven-year-old Robin went missing on October 7 2018 during a walk in Croxley Green and following discussions with police believe Robin may have been stolen as other animals had also gone missing on the same day.

After an appeal on social media, reports have come in of a dog matching the description of Robin being spotted in a number of areas close to Rickmansworth and Croxley Green.

Robin, an Ibizan Podenco, and as can be seen in the pictures, is white with brown hair covering the left side of his face over his eye.

Watford Observer:

Ms Silva, who lives in north London, but has a narrowboat on the Grand Union Canal, close to Cassiobury Park, is hopeful Robin will return safely.

She said: “We rescued him from Spain and before he went missing, he had never run away in the five years we had him. That’s why we believe he was taken.

“He is a hunting dog so we know he can survive by himself. I don’t understand how he hasn’t found his way home because we think he is out there in the area. We’ve been told when dogs get stressed, they go into survival mode and that might be why he has stayed away.

“He had a tracker on him but either it has been removed or lost or the battery has died.”

Watford Observer:

The most possible sighting was on January 14 near Harvey Road in Croxley Green but people have also approached Ana to say they have seen a dog matching Robin’s description in Rousebarn Lane, in December, and elsewhere in Croxley Green.

Ms Silva added: “Please if you see Robin let me know and try not to scare him away.”
