Gritters are out in force to get salt down on the roads following wintery showers.
Hertfordshire County Council has said it will be out gritting the roads before rush hour but has said it be out again later tonight at around 7pm at temperature plummets.
Heavier snow has fallen to the west of Watford, including Croxley Green, and out towards Chorleywood and the Chilterns.
A burst water main in Chorleywood is adding to problems.
Borehamwood and St Albans are also seeing snowfall.
It is likely to turn to sleet which could make the roads icy.
We're expecting wintry showers this afternoon so our gritters are on the roads now to get some grit down before the evening rush hour. It looks like being a cold night too, so we'll be out again at 7pm. #GritterTwitter pic.twitter.com/oMGkOo6kkL

With the possibility of some snow today & overnight, our gritters will be out for a second time today at 7:00pm, on our 20th run this season! Please remember to drive to the conditions, allowing extra time for your journey and adjusting your speed as necessary. #GritterTwitter pic.twitter.com/UjmDExCkJC
