Road works designed to improve the condition of the roads have started across from a hospital.

Essential repairs are being made to the roads across from Whipps Cross Hospital run by Barts Health NHS Trust starting today.

They will begin at the James Lane in Leytonstone working its way up Hospital Road over the course of this week.

Work will take place between 8am and 4pm each day.

Small traffic delays are expected with minor restrictions in place.

Car Park three at the hospital will be closed from late on Wednesday until Thursday afternoon.

Buses in the area will continue to operate and there will be traffic management personnel on site to help road users.

The trust has apologised for any inconvenience caused and say that works should be completed by end of day on Thursday.
