A homeless woman has been jailed following a “shocking” robbery at a cash machine.
Dwayer Jude, 28, of no fixed abode, appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday where she received two years and nine months’ in prison for the robbery of a woman on Leytonstone Road, Walthamstow on November 28, 2018.
The victim, a woman in her early 40s, was withdrawing money from a cashpoint, while a second woman was waiting behind her.
This woman approached the victim, punched and slapped her, and then stole the money she had just withdrawn.
The victim did not require medical treatment.
Detective Inspector Steve Bluemore, of Waltham Forest CID, said: "This was a shocking attack and although the victim was not seriously injured, the effects of becoming the victim of crime run far deeper than the loss of cash.
“I hope that the sentence handed down today brings a measure of comfort the victim."
