A comedy night, which has raised more than £10,000 for charity in 15 months, has already sold out for its next event.

The stand up comedy night event is called Canned Laughter and has been running in Walthamstow since October 2017 raising more than £10,000 for Waltham Forest food bank, Eat or Heat.

It was launched by Walthamstow friends Ali Severs, Kenny Tanners and Amelia Vickery who are TV producers who wanted to help the community through their love of comedy.

The next event is being held at the CentrE17 is Walthamstow’s newest theatre space, on March 29 and has already sold out.

It will feature Morgana Robinson hosting as Natalie Cassidy, and Alice Brine, Lou Sanders, Gabby Best, Spencer Jones and Sophie Duker.

Tickets cost £5 with all proceeds being donated to charity and the audience are also asked to bring five food-bank friendly items to donate.

Mr Tanners said: "Over the last 15 months we’ve managed to raise £10,000 for Eat or Heat and the donations from each show have stocked the food bank for two to three weeks.

"Every night has sold out and we’ve welcomed amazing acts like Nick Helm, Tom Allen, Aisling Bea, Tiff Stevenson and Josie Long. The support from audiences, comedians and the local community has been incredible and we hope to keep growing and helping as many people in need as we can."

The next show is being held on May 24.
