A trial date for a teenager charged with the murder of a 26-year-old man has been set.
Carlos Rueda Velez, 18, of North Birkbeck Road, Leyton, appeared at the Old Bailey yesterday (March 12) charged with the murder of David Martinez who was stabbed to death last Wednesday, (March 6).
Met Police and the London Ambulance Service were called to reports of a stabbing at an address in North Birkbeck Road at around 4.25pm that afternoon.
Mr Martinez was found with six stab wounds, including one to the neck.
He died at the scene at 5.10pm.
It is believed Mr Martinez-Valencia was attacked at a nearby residential address, where he was stabbed, before he left the scene and collapsed in the arms of strangers on North Birkbeck Road.
The horrific incident was witnessed by children as young as two as passers-by and paramedics battled for 45 minutes to save his life.
Velez appeared at the Old Bailey where his trial date was set for May 28.
His bail application was refused and he was remanded into custody until the date of his trial.
