A suspected dog fighting ring has been debunked following an investigation.
A member of the public contact Epping Forest Keepers with concerns about a suspected dog fighting ring behind the Chingford Golf Club on Friday (March 15).
The next morning, an Epping Forest Keeper visited the site and found a small circle marked out with logs surrounding a rope swing suspended from a branch and accompanied by a single plastic seat.
Following an investigation, no evidence of dog-fighting was found.
The area appears to have been used to play and exercise with a dog and this was later confirmed by a member of the public as a site constructed by her father to play with a dog.
A spokesperson for the City of London Corporation, which manages Epping Forest, said: "Following an investigation by our Forest Keepers, no evidence of dog-fighting was found.
"The area appears to have been used to play and exercise with a dog. This was later confirmed by a member of the public as a site constructed by her father to play with a pet.
"Should any visitors suspect that anti-social behaviour is taking place in the Forest, they should report the matter to us on our 24-hour contact number 020 8532 1010 and call the Police on 101 or report online immediately."
