Two sisters who run kickboxing classes in between working full time are launching a new fitness club for all abilities next month.

Kerry and Zoe Hughes, both from Ongar, decided to launch Epping Fit Club to encourage more people to have a healthier lifestyle.

The circuit training themed classes will be held at Coopersale Social Institute Hall, in Institute Road, Cooerpsale, for just £3 a session.

When asked about preparations for the new sporting facility, Kerry Hughes said: ““It’s been going well, the hall has got really good facilities and a good-sized car park.

“We are getting a good feedback so far so hopefully we will get lots of people turn up to try us out.”

The duo has also been running Energize Kickboxing club for adults and children in North Weald Village Hall since September 2012.

When Kerry and Zoe are not teaching, the sisters who have over 25 years’ combined experience in kickboxing, work in payroll and accounting respectively.

“We do this as a hobby,” Ms Hughes added. “I like to pass on my knowledge and help other people get fit. We have been taught by Matthew Chapman he has helped me gain my fifth black belt in kickboxing three years ago.

“We are thankful for him to helping us get to where we are today.

“To teach full time we will need our own martial arts dojo which are really expensive.”

Epping Town Mayor Nigel Avey will also be attending to officially open the new fitness club.

A complimentary health shake will be handed out to all new members after the 45-minute class.

Ms Hughes said: “It’s great to see people gain more confidence we have had people come to us who are overweight or have been bullied and had they gradually built themselves up and lose weight.

Epping Fit Club is open to all fitness abilities aged 14 and over from Saturday April 6.
