Former students are organising a reunion 50 years after leaving their school.

Jacqueline Bailey attended Greenleaf Infants and Primary School and then William McGuffie Secondary Modern School which she left in 1968 aged 15.

She and a friend Barry Bradshaw are now trying to gather former students from the school who will be aged 65 to 67 for a reunion in Essex.

Mrs Bailey said: "We would love to gather a large group of us who attended the schools on Greenleaf Road in Walthamstow during the late 1950's and 1960's.

"The only photo I have is one taken at Greenleaf Infants in circa 1958 as they stopped taking group photos once at Secondary school.

"Very recently we have found some school friends on Facebook and decided to form our own group on Facebook to share memories and old photos.

"Then someone said why don’t you organise another reunion as we missed the last one.

"So if you are one of the people in the photo or recognise anyone please do get in touch as we would love to catch up with you at the reunion."

Mrs Bailey and other friends arranged a reunion in 2002, aged 50, using Friends Reunited and the newspaper.

Around 32 people attended, including a former teacher, who has since passed away.

So far the reunion has gained interest from around 17 to 20 people, but Mrs Bailey is hoping to invite more former pupils.

The reunion will be held on September 28 at The Chichester Hotel in Wickford, Essex.
