A 17-year-old boy who was rushed to hospital after being stabbed has been assessed as having non-life-threatening injuries.

Police were called to the incident on Markhouse Road in Walthamstow at 5.39pm yesterday (Wednesday, March 28) by London Ambulance Service.

It is believed the teenager was stabbed in the Markhouse Passage alleyway and then ran to a shop to seek help.

The crime scene remains in place late last night.

The teenager was rushed to hospital and his condition has now been assessed as not life-threatening.

The investigation is being led by Waltham Forest CID.

No arrests have yet been made.
