A city nature challenge is open to all to spot the best wildlife sightings in the area.

Lee Valley Regional Park Authority is hosting a Walthamstow BioBlitz this month whereby visitors are invited to a number of free events to record their wildlife sightings on April 26 and April 27.

The event will include a number of nature walks at WaterWorks Centre nature reserve and Walthamstow Marshes.

Throughout the duration of the Walthamstow BioBlitz event, partic—ipatnts are asked to record their wildlife sightings to create a snapshot of the wide range of wildlife at the nature reserve and marshes in the Lee Valley.

The results will feed into the City Nature Challenge London - a competition to find and record the most nature across the city from April 26 to April 29.

London is competing against 160 cities worldwide, including the UK cities of Bristol, Bath, Glasgow, Leicester, Liverpool and Manchester.

Visitors are encouraged to download the free iNaturalist app in advance of the event.

The first event of the event at Lee Valley is the City Nature Challenge Springtime Bird Walk on Friday, April 26 from 9am to 11am.
