An 81-year-old man was left in a critical condition after a hit and run crash.
Police and the London Ambulance Service were called to Lea Bridge Road, Leyton, at approximately 10pm yesterday (Thursday, May 16) to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian.
The 81-year-old was treated at the scen before being taken to hospital. He remains in a critical condition.
The driver did not stop and an investigation is underway to trace them and the vehicle.
Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area who may have witnessed the collision or have dashcam footage.
