A serial gym locker thief has been jailed after an appeal on BBC's Crimewatch Roadshow.
James Dennis, 28, of Sturge Avenue, Walthamstow, was wanted by City of London Police for five counts of theft after he broke into gym lockers and pinched bank cards, designer watches and wallets.
His image was circulated on BBC's Crimewatch Roadshow TV programme in March and a number of viewers called in with information that led to his arrest in Colindale on April 30.
Dennis appeared at City of London Magistrates Court the following day and pleaded guilty to all the charges.
He was subsequently jailed for 20 months at Inner London Crown Court on Tuesday.
Detective Constable Syed Shah, of City of London Police, said: "Dennis showed a complete disregard for the law when he deliberately targeted premises in the City to steal personal items of the highest value."
DC Shah added: "Thanks to the public coming forward with information regarding his whereabouts, we were able to successfully arrest, charge and prosecute Dennis.
"He will now have to reflect on his actions from inside a cell."
