The four by four was last detected on Manford Way, Chigwell, less than a two-minute drive away from its parked location.

Wilson Chowdhry, chairman of British Pakistani Christian Association, only noticed the car was gone shortly after 8.30am the next day.

“The intrusive nature of this theft has increased our anxiety on my wife and children, we have now connected a CCTV camera and now exploring other safety measures.”

The car was purchased two and half years ago with a distinct feature of deployable steps which appear both sides of the vehicle when the doors are opened.

Mr Chowdhry was informed by tracking device company that the system does not seemed to have been tampered with, providing some hope the car will be found.

“Essex Police said to us that the vehicle could potentially be in a garage or underground car park following the theft, he explained. “Since last weekend, police have advised us to put bollards up around the drive and put a wheel lock on.

“We currently using a rented car for now and we used our friends’ car to try and trace ours for around six to seven hours but no luck sadly.

"There is no CCTV in the area and our Ring device did not detect the incident because the car was not parked near enough for it to trigger any movement.

“We moved to Chigwell hoping to move away from the high crime rates we had experienced in Ilford we have only moved to the area a year ago. Anybody who saw anything that would be great.”

Essex Police confirmed the incident was reported to them and no further sightings had been made of the Land Range Rover with plate number OV55 XKW.

They said: “If anyone has any information or witnessed any suspicious activity in the area around the time they can call us on 101.”
